Swing Priority

The primary focus should be correcting your Steep/Over-the-Top path. This flaw sends the club steeply from outside the target line. That forces compensations like early extension just to make solid contact. Feel the club dropping into a slot behind you, like pulling a bell rope. Then let it approach the ball from the inside.

Head Stability

The head moves slightly up and back during the backswing, then forward and down in the downswing. That movement makes a consistent low point harder. It also lets the upper body dominate, which feeds the over-the-top motion.

Spine Inclination

The golfer loses spine angle on the downswing and stands up slightly. That early extension compensates for a steep, over-the-top path. It limits rotation and makes an inside delivery harder.

Shoulder Tilt

The shoulders appear to turn more vertically than horizontally in the backswing, leading to a steep club plane. This vertical motion contributes directly to the club getting steep and outside, setting up the over-the-top downswing.

Hip Turn

The hips do not create enough depth in the backswing. Without that rotation, the upper body works over the plane and the club moves outside the target line.

Transition

The transition starts from the shoulders instead of the lower body. This pulls the handle outward and makes the shaft steep before impact.

Club Path

The club approaches from outside the ideal delivery slot. Rehearse shallowing the club behind you before adding speed.

Practice Focus

Start with slow bell-rope rehearsals, then hit half-speed shots feeling the club fall behind you before rotating through.
